A woman was arrested after stabbing her nephew in a dispute.
Shatibia Murphy of New York, is accused of stabbing her teenage nephew in the groin during an argument over a piece of cake.
Police were
called about 3:00 a.m., to the 17-year-old’s apartment in Manhattan early Saturday morning, police said.
Murphy, 24, of Brooklyn, was eating cake with her nephew at the Clinton Houses on Park Avenue, when the two got into an argument. She then grabbed a knife and stabbed him twice in the groin, police said.
The 17-year-old boy was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, where he is recovering and is said to be in stable condition.
Murphy, who has multiple prior arrests for violent crimes, fled the apartment but was arrested a few blocks away. The knife was not recovered.
Murphy was charged with felony assault.
