Mavin Records Releases 96 Songs In Less Than 3 Years

The Don Jazzy led label has been the most prolific record label within the last 2 and a half years.
On May 8, 2012 Mavin Records was created by Don Jazzy after his split from D'Banj. That same day, Mavin Records released its first music material, the compilation album titledSolar Plexus. While the reviews for the album were not great, it launched the beginning of Don Jazzy's new dominance in the Nigerian music scene.
Today, Mavin Records is the most prolific record label for urban music in Nigeria. The imprint has released 96 songs in less than three years. It's not just about numbers, Don Jazzy's label has dropped quality material too- most notably the three successive mega hits, 'Eminado', 'Surulere', and 'Dorobucci'.
Mavin acts- Dr. Sid, Tiwa Savage and D'Prince have released the most songs within this period having released solo albums. In the Mavin roster, D'Prince has been the most active surprisingly. Wande Coal was once a member of Mavin but left in 2013.
Mavin Records' amazing run is likely to continue judging by the new talent. Di'Ja, Reekado Banks and Korede Bello have performed admirably in their new releases. Korede Bello is already being positioned as the new male pop sweetheart.
Mavin Records also has two producers, Baby Fresh, and Altim which have been instrumental to their high output.
The future looks bright for Mavin Records. If things go according to plan, they will release approximately release over 180 songs in six years.

A new diss track was released last night by super music producer Mike Will Made It titled 'P**sy Overrated' featuring Wiz and Future and the rapper and singer took aim at their exes. On the track Wiz spits, “Rich ni**a get you/ he’ll never put nothing above you / every time I see you I don’t never want nothing from you,’ while Ciara's baby daddy Future raps, “You supposed to f*ck me like a star/ girl you know you faking / yo pu**y overrated!” Ouch!
