The General Overseer of the Synagogue, Church Of All Nations, Prophet T.B Joshua has stated through the church spokesperson, Kirsten Nematandani, that the church will be compensating the families of the victims who lost their lives during the collapse of the Church’s guest house on Friday, September 12, 2014 with the sum of  50,000rands  (N750, 000) to each family. According to Kirsten, “The church has pleaded with the Nigerian government to expedite the repatriation process in order for families to bury the deceased with dignity and receive closure. “We have done a full audit of each family’s financial needs and assisted with various household expenses, as many of the deceased were breadwinners.” “The SCOAN church is donating a sum of 50,000 rand to each victim’s family for various expenses”, he said. Recalled that large cross section of those who lost their lives in the incident were South Africans.

University of Zimbabwe has banned kissing and having sex in public. We have no problem with the latter since no decent individual should even be doing that in public. But to make it some sort of offence for a person to kiss, hug or be intimate with another in a higher education institution is just plain stupid. Let’s not forget that such institution may also have married couples—and they are expected not to be intimate on campus or else they will face a disciplinary action. According to the The Zimbabwe National Students Union (Zinasu), the university administration had a habit of instituting arbitrary rules without consulting student bodies. The union was therefore “organising a petition against the campus kissing ban”, Zinasu’s Gift Maposa told the BBC’s Focus on Africa programme. If this was somewhere in Europe, students will take one day off and line up, holding each other and kissing whoever is standing next to them—in protest and breach this rule.

Indications emerged yesterday that the members of Boko Haram sect have agreed to release the Chibok girls, latest Monday, next week. A Nigerian drug smuggler has died in a Spanish airport after several bags of  cocaine burst in his stomach. The unidentified man collapsed in the customs area of the Madrid-Barajas airport and upon hearing that the man was from Nigeria, staff were too afraid to approach the man and left him in shivers on the airport floor.  Spain's El Mundo newspaper reports that the man, who had landed on a flight from Istanbul on October 18, died 90 minutes later from a massive drugs overdose, It added:  'A civil guard officer initially positioned the man on his side and identified him from personal documents.When it was clear he was a Nigerian, no one dared touch him.'Medical staff decided immediately that there was a risk that this could be a case of Ebola.' A passenger accompanying him later told police that he had flown from Madrid to Istanbul on October 14 and had not been to Nigeria for four years.

A district pastor of a Church in Ilorin, Kwara State capital has been arrested and remanded by a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos state. 37-year-old Adebambo Adetunji, has been accused of being one of the gang members, who robbed motorists at the Ojota Bus stop, between April and July, 2014. The Punch  reports that Pastor Adetunji and his gang members who are currently on the run were known for snatching cars and robbing victims of their valuables at gun point. It was gathered that the accused was arrested after one of their victims reported the matter to the police. A Toyota Camry and a Mercedes Benz ML320 with number plates MUS 413 BH and LND 623 BF respectively, were diverted by the suspected robbers, who were said to have also used cutlasses in their operations. A Jilted, 22-year-old lover boy chopped off his own penis after he was dumped by his girlfriend.   Report has it that Mr Oliver Ilic was told by his girlfriend that he was no good in bed so he felt depressed and mutilated himself then threw the remains in the bin.
