As a way of saving money, Wyong sisters, Pat and Beth Newbury married their fiancees at St James Anglican Church, Wyong on November 8, 1954. Pat, who worked at Chapman's Store, married Jim Dyer, a truck driver, while Beth married Barry Smith, who worked at the local hardware store. Mrs Dyer said the sisters were from a large family of eight children and their father suggested the double wedding because he simply couldn’t afford to pay for two weddings at the time. "Beth was also working at Chapmans and as we did everything together anyway and the same people would be invited to both weddings so we decided to go ahead," she said. Both sisters wore white satin lace trimmed gowns and carried bouquets of carnations and orchids. Police in  Enugu  has revealed that a woman has allegedly bathed her husband with a substance said to be an acid during a scufflle. The woman who has not been named by the police was said to have bathed her husband with acid, leaving him unconscious before he was rushed to  St. Anthony’s Hospital,  Obeachara, Nsukka where he is currently being treated. The State Police Public Relations Officer,  Mr Ebere Amariaizu told newsmen  that the woman who fled the scene immediately, has not been found since the incident happened on Tuesday, October 21. He however assured that investigations had commenced in full scale to establish the circumstances surrounding the act. He added that efforts had also been intensified to ensure that the suspect is arrested and brought to book.

The Pop star and family gathered on November 7, 2014 in their hometown - Amufu Ejeba in Enumoga Ehaje, Okpokwu LGA of Benue State to lay the remains of father, husband and brother - Michael Idibia. Pa Idibia took his final breath on August 23, 2014  at an undisclosed hospital in Abuja after a battle with prostate cancer. Aged 68,  Michael Idibia is an alumnus of Kansas State University, USA . He worked in the Ministry of Agriculture, Makurdi.  He was married to wife, Rose and had with her, four children – Steven, Innocent, Hyacinth and Oche.

The police operatives in the Abuja command  had arrested a 32-year old woman identified as Anso Comfort on Friday, October 31, 2014, on charges of child abuse after allegedly assaulting her 9-year old niece by placing a red-hot knife on her private part. Comfort, who is a fashion designer in Dutse Makaranta, was charged with cruelty to children and causing serious injury. At her first court appearance, Comfort pleaded guilty to the charges, according to World Wide Weird News reports. Police investigation revealed that the accused  committed the heinous act against the little girl who lives with her for coming home late. During the hearing in the court, prosecutors of the case said, “She heated the kitchen knife on a stove, and placed it on the private parts of the nine-year-old girl, who lives with her.
