Oregon Police shot to death a 33 year-old
man who was suspected to have stabbed a 20 year-old footballer to death
in a shopping mall in Oregon, United States of America
The 20 year-old Linebacker, Parker Moore had just featured for
his Linfield College Football
team, Wildcats in their 59-0 routing of Pacific University on Saturday
night before he was found dead hours later in a 7-eleven convenience
store
According to the police report, the ‘’alleged assailant, Joventino Bermudez Arenas,
33, returned to the scene on the outskirts of Linfield’s campus shortly
after the 11 p.m. attack and confronted McMinnville police with a
knife.’’ The officers hot and killed him instantly
Oregon police could not place the history of the incident
"We don't have an idea of that at all.
"We don't have anything to explain or connect the two. It wasn't a robbery gone wrong, it wasn't an altercation," an officer said
Linfield College President, Thomas Hellie wrote in a statement: “We have lost a valued, important member of our community and all of us share in the grief.
“We
are all still in shock, but we know that it is important to speak to
counselors, to support each other as we mourn, and to think about and
pray for Parker’s family and friends.”
Wildcats teammate wrote: “Parker was a dear member of the team, a true family member. Embodied everything that's good about Linfield.''
